Temporary Editorial Illustrator/Designer
About the position The Guardian US is looking for a Temporary Editorial Illustrator/Designer to join our New York newsroom. This is a three-month fixed-term position. The designer will join a team that already includes photo editors, art directors, and graphics reporters, and help design in-house illustrations, lay out stories, create treated photos, composites, and simple graphics. Responsibilities • Illustrate/design header images for stories and reusable image treatments for recurring columns. • Create one-off visual approaches for special projects and series, including bespoke story design (typographic and color treatments) and art direction. • Design occasional static assets such as section banners and newsletter headers. • Lay out visual stories in our CMS using existing tools and templates Requirements • 1-3 years design experience.
