Scorers enjoy the change of pace, the mental challenge, and the opportunity to give back to their educational field. • *We have immediate openings for current or retired teachers to score Latin** . • *Key benefits** + Scoring the Texas Educator Certification Examinations provides educators with a unique opportunity to network with peers, support their profession, and stay up to date with current practices and content. + Scorers are provided with the opportunity to learn a process for evaluating responses to performance assignments, effectively and fairly. + Scorers are provided with a thorough orientation to the methodology of how to score responses and gain valuable assessment skills in the process. + All scoring is done during the day remotely via Teams. Scoring sessions are conducted 4 times a year for one day and scorers are scheduled based on their availability. + Compensation is hourly at $17.50 per hour. • *Overall Responsibilities** + Evaluates teacher certification candidate responses to constructed-response items in a reliable manner and scores according to supplied scoring guide. + Successfully internalizes training and participates in discussions. + Meets quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program. + May be required to pass qualifying test before scoring. • *Qualifications** + Conferred a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an Accredited College or University. + Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a Texas school. + Taught the specific content field being scored within the past 3 years in a Texas school. + Valid and current Texas certification required. + Must reside in the state of Texas. + Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse). + Ability to sit for extended periods of time. + Ability to maintain a confidential work environment. + Eligible to work in the United States. • *Equal Employment Opportunity** Pearson is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer and a member of E-Verify.
