TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER (CIVIL)
Caltrans District 3 is seeking a Transportation Engineer (Civil) to join their Geotechnical Services team. The role involves performing quality reviews, providing technical support, and developing geotechnical design standards and tools for the State Transportation System. Responsibilities Perform quality review and provide technical support to Geotechnical Design offices Develop and update geotechnical design related standards, and guidelines for the Geotechnical Manual Develop geotechnical design and analysis tools Perform geotechnical investigation and engineering for projects Work on projects, including planning, design, construction, and operation phases of the State Transportation System, which may require traveling to the Districts and job sites for periods of several days to weeks Participate in Geotechnical Services (GS) technical teams and Division of Engineering Service’s technical committees Skills Possession of a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers for Range D A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ), resume and application are required Demonstrated course work in the mechanics of materials, including stress-strain behavior, elasticity, and plasticity of materials Demonstrated course work in advanced soil mechanics, including laboratory test, effective stress, stress path, and consolidation Demonstrated course work in geotechnical engineering, including retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, deep foundation design Demonstrated experience in geotechnical engineering, including geotechnical investigation, laboratory test, retaining wall design, and preparing geotechnical report Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment If you are basing your eligibility on education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov Resume is required and must be included Statement of Qualifications - Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required Company Overview Caltrans District 3 is a government administration company based out of 703 B ST, Marysville, California, United States.
