Vice President - Software Engineering
Job Description: • VP, Software Engineering - Remote, USA • Who We Are: CrashPlan ® provides cyber-ready data resilience and governance in a single platform for organizations whose ideas power their revenue. • With its comprehensive backup and recovery capabilities for data stored on servers, on endpoint devices, and in SaaS applications, CrashPlan’s solutions are trusted by entrepreneurs, professionals, and businesses of all sizes worldwide. • From ransomware recovery and breaches to migrations and legal holds, CrashPlan’s suite of products ensures the safety and compliance of your data without disruption. • Position Summary: We are seeking a VP, Software Engineering who will be a key driver of technical excellence and innovation within our organization. • This role requires a visionary who not only partners closely with Product, Design, and Go-to-Market teams, but also demonstrates a keen understanding of our business drivers and market dynamics. • In this role, you will lead a global, highly technical team through the key components of the software development life cycle. • With extensive leadership and team-building skills, you will develop and execute strategic corporate objectives across a broad organization. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering , Computer Science or an appropriate combination of education and experience in an engineering discipline • 10+ years experience leading and building global Software Engineering teams, and working with the key components in the life-cycle of shipping software: prioritization, scoping, estimating, developing, testing and QA, documentation, release management, and support • 15+ years experience in designing and building distributed software systems, and experience developing and executing strategic objectives across a broad organization • Experience building SaaS software hosted and served out of major cloud hosting services - such as AWS, Azure or GCP • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Preferred) • Proven track record of high-quality and timely product delivery and effective team building • Experience working in cross-functional organizations, such as product management, operations, support, testing, documentation, or release management • Outward facing experience with customers, third-party vendors, like-companies or technical communities • Acted as a thought leader within an organization and the broader industry, contributing to technical blogs, conferences, and community engagement • Demonstrable understanding of industry best practices in Software Development methodologies Benefits: • medical • dental • vision • 401k match • more Apply tot his job
