Job Summary Comcast's Xmidt/Webpa team is seeking a Golang focused software engineer to join our team. The team develops and deploys the open source projects as well as a few other internal projects. The Xmidt/Webpa team is passionate about learning, sharing and adopting best practices for the entire DevSecOps lifecycle. Open source software development is a significant portion of the work the team does with the community and our partners. Nearly all our projects are written go, so if you're excited about that language then you'll be in good company. Job Description As a Golang engineer on the team you will contribute to critical infrastructure projects that operate at fairly large scales. You will be part of a team that works together to improve our quality and reliability every day. See what we're up to right here: and Core Responsibilities A Bachelor's degree or equivalent. A broad technical proficiency, with a thirst for knowledge, and a 'can do' attitude. Ability and readiness to quickly learn new technologies. You are self motivating and driven. You explore when there is time and focus on what is important to achieve our goals. Take high-level design decisions from the team and turn them into reality that solves customer issues through collaboration. Team player, excellent communication skills and able to successfully articulate technology concepts to both business and technical audience. Demonstrated ability to quickly understand business requirements, propose reference architectures, and possible technology solutions. Technical Skills Experience with writing Go code. (Ideal) Proficient working in a Linux environment. Proficient writing tests for your own code. Some networking knowledge is a plus (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, Firewalls, traffic shaping, and load balancing). Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and tools such as Github Actions. Experience with deploying and operating infrastructure running micro services based platforms.
