YouTube Channel Growth & Optimization Specialist - Freelance, Remote Department: Support & Leadership Employment Type: Full Time Location: Global+ Reporting To: Client via Magic Compensation: $7.00 / hour Description About the Client A leading U.S.-based independent digital studio and distributor with a global footprint, this company develops, curates, and monetizes premium film, TV, and digital IP across major platforms. They manage a portfolio of 20+ YouTube channels with millions of subscribers across multiple genres. With a library of 40,000+ assets and direct relationships with top streamers and FAST platforms, they are scaling owned-and-operated channel growth. Why does this role exist? This role exists to bridge content production and performance analytics, ensuring every video is discoverable, clickable, and watchable. The specialist will standardize and scale optimization across multiple channels and genres—lifting CTR, watch time, and subscriber growth through data-driven metadata, thumbnails, and channel organization. As the company expands channel ownership and management, this role drives consistent, measurable growth and a healthy community presence. The Impact you’ll make Metadata & Search Optimization • Craft SEO-informed titles, descriptions, tags, categories, and chapters tailored to Search, Suggested, and Browse. • Build keyword maps and maintain metadata playbooks/templates for repeatable optimization. • Implement end screens, cards, and default upload settings; QA all uploads for accuracy and compliance. Channel Architecture & Content Organization • Create and manage playlists and homepage sections to maximize session starts and watch time. • Maintain an intuitive channel layout and refresh featured video and sections as needed. • Coordinate publishing details with internal teams to keep the channel organized and on cadence. Thumbnail Strategy & Creative Iteration • Use provided AI image tools to create and iterate high-CTR thumbnails. • A/B test thumbnail and title variants; analyze CTR, impressions-to-views, and retention to guide iterations. • Maintain thumbnail/title guidelines and a library of proven patterns. Audience & Community Engagement • Monitor and respond to comments; foster constructive, brand-safe interactions. • Pin top comments and surface audience feedback and trends to stakeholders. • Protect channel health by escalating policy or brand-safety issues promptly. Competitive Research, Analytics & Reporting • Conduct competitor/trend audits to identify opportunities and emerging formats. • Translate YouTube Analytics insights (traffic sources, CTR, AVD, retention) into concrete optimization actions. • Track work in shared logs and deliver consistent progress reports on growth and experiments. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required: • Proven experience successfully managing or optimizing YouTube channels (not a training role). • Fluency in YouTube Studio and deep understanding of Search, Suggested, and Browse—and how strategies differ for each. • Demonstrated metadata SEO and channel organization that drive watch time and discovery. • Ability to interpret Analytics to guide titles, metadata, thumbnails, and content organization. • Experience creating/testing thumbnails; comfortable using AI tools for creative generation and iteration. • WFH Set-Up: • Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up. • Internet speed of at least 40MBPS • Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam • Back-up computer and internet connection • Quiet, dedicated workspace at home Your Superpowers: • Technical: Canva, Adobe Photoshop; working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator; file prep/exports, image retouching, asset optimization; platform specs for major social channels • Design fundamentals: typography, layout, color theory, composition, visual hierarchy, and basic branding principles • E-commerce/fashion: understanding of women’s apparel trends, merchandising moments, and visuals that drive clicks and conversions • Ways of working: impeccable attention to detail, strong time management, ability to follow instructions and accept feedback, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving • Nice to have: basic video/motion graphics for reels/stories, familiarity collaborating with marketing/content teams You should apply if... • You thrive at the intersection of creativity and data—forming hypotheses, testing rapidly, and iterating to results. • You’re organized and precision-driven, with a bias for action and measurable outcomes. • You can context-switch across genres while maintaining brand safety and quality. • You’re an autonomous operator who brings playbooks, not guesswork—and you’re ready to contribute from day one.
