Position Type Faculty Employment Status Adjunct Salary Adjunct Stipend Open Date 11/15/2017 Close Date Open Until Filled No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary ADJUNCT – NURSE EDUCATION: This position is responsible for supervising the nursing students in the clinical environment. This position is also responsible for evaluating the clinical performance of the student and grading all clinical assignments under the supervision of an assigned Mastered prepared faculty. The position can also include assisting students with patient care skills practice in onsite skills labs. The position can include assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes. The position requires evidence of Health Care Provider CPR, yearly tuberculin skin tests, and other required immunizations as per nursing program policy. Minimum Qualifications Education and Work Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and five (5) years of clinical work experience: Assist in course instruction under the supervision of Master’s or Doctoral-prepared faculty member to ensure course content and objectives are met. **OR**• Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Nursing and three (3) years of clinical work experience: Teach nursing courses to include clinical supervision in health care facilities of ten (10) to fifteen (15) students according to Texas Board of Nursing requirements. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas (Submission of certification required). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare provider certification (Submission of certification is required). Current negative Tuberculin (TB) and other required immunizations as stipulated by healthcare agencies. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).
