Job Description The Advanced AI/ML Engineer is responsible for building and deploying new AI systems that advance MiTek's software and hardware products. This role will be hands-on in prototyping ideas and will collaborate cross-functionally from initial concept to full production implementation. This role requires creativity and analytical skills to understand business challenges, propose AI-enabled solutions, and bring them to life through robust system design, modeling, and coding. The Advanced AI/ML Engineer will develop, test, and deploy scalable and robust machine learning and deep learning solutions for various domains such as computer vision, natural language processing, speech recognition, recommender systems, reinforcement learning, generative AI, and multimodal models. Job Responsibilities & Requirements **Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.** Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive systems and frameworks for AI applications and products. Supervise and sustain AI systems in production to guarantee consistent model accuracy and reliability. Develop POCs and prototypes (including data explorations) in a fast-paced environment to ensure feasibility, scalability, and accuracy of algorithms and models. Research and implement state-of-the-art data science techniques for modeling and algorithm development. Lead complex end-to-end projects using structured and unstructured data types, including time series data sources. Lead, mentor, and coach junior members of the AI team on AI/ML and industry best practices and methodologies, fostering their professional growth Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time. Create advanced data visualizations and dashboards to communicate effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and researchers to deliver high-quality products and services. Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in computer vision and artificial intelligence. Attend meetings with customers and cross-functional departments to understand project needs and requirements, collect data sets, and assist with converting business requirements into technical specifications. Educate and evangelize the use of AI among internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Computer Engineering) required; Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis. 5+ years of experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions in areas such as NLP, computer vision, or deep learning. Proven track record delivering production-grade AI/ML models, including scalable data pipelines and monitoring systems. Experience building AI systems for external customer-facing products. Hands-on experience with MLOps (e.g., model versioning, deployment, orchestration, monitoring) and tools like Azure ML, SageMaker, MLflow, or Airflow. Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, OpenCV, and Docker. Strong grasp of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques. Experience deploying models on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Strong communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and business acumen.
