AI/ML Engineer (LLM + Python) / Full-Stack Developer

We are pioneering cognitive-architecture and mental-health intelligence platform developed by a Washington D.C.–based strategic design and advanced-technology firm. Our early-stage MVP will integrate: • LLM pipelines • UI/UX patient + provider interfaces • Guardrails • Data models + cognitive mapping • A research layer for subject-matter experts and institutions We are looking for one or two exceptional technologists to help build the first working prototype. The Role We seek a Lead AI/ML Engineer (with or without a UI/UX-focused partner) to architect and build the MVP. You will: • Build and deploy LLM-based backend (Python) • Set up core architecture, vector DBs, guardrails, pipelines • Develop or integrate a minimal front-end UI for demos • Work closely with the founder/CEO on system logic, features, and platform evolution • Operate with high autonomy, precision, and startup agility This is an opportunity to become core founding technical talent. Responsibilities • Architect MVP-level cognitive/AI engine using Python + LLM frameworks • Build secure API layers and lightweight database structures • Develop UI components (or work with a front-end partner) • Translate conceptual/strategic design into functional product • Implement security, privacy, and compliance best practices • Help shape the product roadmap, research stack, and technical vision Ideal Candidate Profile • 3–10+ years experience in: • LLMs, RAG, model guardrails • Python (FastAPI, LangChain, Pydantic, etc.) • Vector DBs (Pinecone, Milvus, Chroma, Weaviate) • Cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP) • Experience in mental-health, health-tech, gov-tech, neuro-symbolic AI, or cognitive systems is a plus • Able to work in a lean startup environment and deliver fast • Creative, self-directed, and aligned with mission-driven impact Compensation & Equity Because this is an early-stage funded startup: • Compensation is negatable based on experience and role • Initial compensation is deferred, paid retroactively once seed capital is raised • Equity participation available (1%–5% depending on role and contribution) • Flexible contractor (1099) structure with option to convert to Core Team IP, Copyright, and Confidentiality All work produced under this engagement is: • Work for Hire • Fully owned and copyrighted by company • Covered under strict NDA, non-compete, and non-solicit terms • Cannot be replicated, shared, or reused outside MindCube This is a protected project with proprietary IP, architecture, and brand assets. Location Requirement Candidates must be based in or willing to commute to the Washington D.C. / Maryland / Northern Virginia (DMV) region for periodic in-person collaboration.
