The AP Calculus Teacher Role As an AP Calculus Teacher at Intrinsic Schools, you'll be responsible for inspiring and educating students in a dynamic and fast-paced urban school environment. You'll work collaboratively with a talented team of educators to design and deliver engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide individualized support to ensure that every student reaches their full potential. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement daily lesson plans that align with our academic model and meet the diverse needs of our students Demonstrate a 100% commitment to preparing every student for post-secondary success, fostering a growth mindset, and promoting academic excellence Uphold and reinforce our student culture, encouraging mutual respect, empathy, and intellectual curiosity Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver online and offline instruction, leveraging technology to personalize learning and enhance student outcomes Lead an advisory group that meets daily, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to students Review student-level data to inform instruction and student groupings, using SAT-aligned interim assessments, data from online programs, and teacher-created content assessments Seek to improve practice through data analysis, observation, feedback, and video, staying up-to-date with best practices in education and AP Calculus instruction Support student learning outside the classroom, facilitating clubs, after-school tutoring, office hours, and other extracurricular activities Contribute to the overall Intrinsic Team by supporting colleagues, participating in school-wide events, and seeking ways to improve the school Qualifications and Requirements Essential Qualifications Certified to teach in Illinois or currently enrolled in an alternative certification program Track record of driving student outcomes or a history of achievement with students of a similar population Experienced using technology in the classroom or an early adopter of technology in personal life or other areas Preferred Qualifications ESL Certification Experience with team teaching and collaborative instructional design Familiarity with AP Calculus curriculum and instructional best practices Skills and Competencies To succeed as an AP Calculus Teacher at Intrinsic Schools, you'll need: Strong mathematical knowledge and pedagogical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Flexibility and adaptability in responding to diverse student needs Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and inform instruction Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Intrinsic Schools, we're committed to supporting the growth and development of our teachers.
