About Our Institution The University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) is the primary teaching hospital of The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont. We are an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center for adult and Level 2 Trauma Center for pediatric patients, and a major tertiary referral center for the state of Vermont and upstate New York. Our emergency department is known for quality patient care and dedicated teaching faculty, with an annual census of 62,000 patients.
