Assistant Engineer/Associate Engineer (DOQ)
Inland Empire Utilities Agency is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water. They are seeking an Assistant Engineer or Associate Engineer to support the Construction Management function by participating in engineering design and construction of water treatment facilities, collaborating with various stakeholders, and providing design engineering support during construction. Responsibilities Assist in developing engineering designs, preparing and evaluating consultant requests for proposals, reviewing plans and specifications for compliance with Agency standards, and supporting project scheduling and cost control Provide design engineering support through field investigations, construction meetings, responses to RFIs and RFDs, site acceptance testing, and on-site inspections Serve in a construction inspection or construction project management capacity, contributing directly to the successful delivery of projects using both traditional design-bid-build and progressive design-build delivery methods Skills Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline For Assistant Engineer, one year of professional engineering or related field/planning experience (including internship experience), preferably with a water or wastewater utility; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience For Assistant Engineer, F.E. Certification is required within 12 months of hire For Associate Engineer, F.E. Certification is required A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency's vehicle insurance program Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with consultants to support planning, design, and implementation of engineering projects Experience performing technical tasks related to capital improvement project design, environmental compliance, water/recycled water systems, or infrastructure maintenance Experience supporting project management activities for water and wastewater treatment projects, including developing scopes of work, reviewing plans and specifications, coordinating with contractors, and monitoring project timelines and budgets The drive to serve the community by working on specialty projects including an Advanced Water Treatment Purification Facility, aquifer replenishment facilities, and large size water conveyance systems Company Overview Inland Empire Utilities Agency IEUA is committed to investing in our water supply for today and tomorrow through fiscal responsibility.
