Associate Underwriter, Casualty

Admiral Insurance Group is a member of the W. R. Berkley Corporation, specializing in underwriting difficult-to-place moderate to high-risk commercial businesses. The Associate Underwriter - Casualty will focus on underwriting and servicing new and renewal accounts, ensuring compliance and maintaining key broker relationships. Responsibilities Production and underwriting of new and renewal account business of the following classes: Construction, Products, Liquor Liability, Habitational, Amusements, and OL&T Compliance with underwriting documentation rules and guidelines Maintain an acceptable underwriting profit Adherence to Admiral underwriting guidelines and referral compliance Development and maintenance of key broker/agent relationships Deliver timely and accurate quotes and endorsements to brokers, ensuring responsive and reliable service Participates in all internal company training and continuing education Attends strategic marketing calls to key brokers Other duties as assigned Skills Bachelor's Degree required Minimum of 1 year of experience underwriting Commercial Lines, with proficiency handling complex and high-hazard risks Ability to understand and execute priorities including underwriting appetite, limit management and mix of business, broker strategy, and pricing/rate strategy Strong organization skills Ability to manage deadlines effectively Excellent verbal and written communication skills Technical proficiency is required Completed coursework toward a Risk Management and Insurance Degree a plus Applicable coursework toward attainment of a CPCU or other related Insurance Designation(s) preferred Strong knowledge of the E&S marketplace In-depth knowledge of commercial E&S Casualty strongly preferred Benefits Health Dental Vision Life Disability Wellness Paid Time Off 401(k) Profit-Sharing plans Company Overview Acadia Insurance specializes in commercial property casualty insurance.
