The Automation and AI Analyst is a key contributor and innovator in IT Services' efforts to enhance operational efficiency and organizational performance. They design, deploy, and maintain automation solutions and serve as a subject matter expert for automation and AI tools. The analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure solutions align with objectives. The analyst creates and maintains technical documentation and monitors systems to ensure the reliability and security of automation solutions. This position is Milwaukee-based hybrid, with potential to be fully remote. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Design, deploy, and maintain automation / AI solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and business performance. Monitor performance and generate reports to continuously improve the effectiveness, reliability, and security of the automation applications and AI agents. 2. Integrate AI functionality into existing processes and platforms to solve business challenges and optimize operations. 3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand workflows, objectives, and functional interdependencies. Liaise with the business units and IT Services to ensure that requirements are understood and solutions align with business objectives. 4. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for automation and AI tools. Establish best practices related to configuration and deployment of the tools. Develop appropriate documentation and training resources for IT Services and other stakeholders in the use of these tools. 5. Keep abreast of the latest advancements in AI and automation technologies to continuously improve Marquette's capabilities. 6. Responsible for the supervision of student employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student's assignment, etc. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor's degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or comparable experience. A minimum of 4 years demonstrated experience using automation platforms or code, in the technical design, implementation, testing, and documentation of automation solutions, and in collaborating with cross-functional teams to map and automate business processes. Previous workplace experience with web service technologies and the ability to quickly learn and utilize APIs for unfamiliar systems. Previous workplace experience with AI technologies and integrating them into existing systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master's degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or comparable experience. IT automation certification, e.g. ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP). AI certification from reputable institutions. Experience with automation platforms and tools, e.g. Power Platform, Workato, Selenium, Boomi, Mulesoft, or Informatica. Experience with Python, PowerShell, or other programming languages commonly used in automation. Proficiency with modern development tools, e.g. Azure DevOps, and source control methodologies, e.g. Git. Familiarity with SQL and relational database concepts. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies. Familiarity with ITSM concepts.
