Automation Engineer Needed for GoHighLevel Integrations

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer who specializes in GoHighLevel (GHL) to help streamline our processes through API integrations and webhooks. Job Description We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer who specializes in connecting GoHighLevel (GHL) with external applications using webhooks, REST APIs, Make.com, Zapier, and custom automation logic. This role will help us build seamless internal workflows where our team can book appointments, sync calendars, route leads, and automate tasks across multiple systems (e.g., GHL ↔ Cal.com ↔ Google Calendar ↔ Internal Tools). This is an ongoing project-based role with the potential for long-term collaboration. Responsibilities Creating and maintaining GHL workflows, triggers, and webhook integrations Connecting GHL to external apps using REST APIs Implementing inbound/outbound webhooks Building automation flows using Make (preferred) or Zapier Creating custom routing logic for calendars, appointments, and lead assignment Integrating with scheduling systems (Cal.com, Google Calendar, Outlook) Troubleshooting errors and improving existing automations Creating technical documentation for all completed automations Coordinating with our operations team to optimize the VA workflow process Required Skills & Experience Technical Requirements Strong experience with GoHighLevel (Workflows, Calendars, Webhooks, Triggers) Proficiency in REST API integrations (GET, POST, authentication, headers) Ability to read and implement API documentation Expert-level experience in Make.com or Zapier Skilled in using JSON, tokens, headers, API keys Experience connecting CRMs to schedulers (Calendly, Cal.com, Acuity, etc.) Able to build data mapping between systems Familiar with automation error handling and logging ⭐ Bonus Skills Experience with Cal.com API Knowledge of Node.js or Python (for custom API scripts) Experience building internal routing logic Background with dialers, CRMs, or internal workflow automation What We’re Looking For Excellent communicator Detail-oriented and highly organized Problem-solver with strong analytical thinking Able to work independently and hit deadlines Comfortable working with technical systems Available for ongoing updates, fixes, and future automation builds Project Scope We currently need automations involving: GHL appointment → webhook → Cal.com booking Cal.com → webhook → GHL updates (assigned closer, event ID, etc.) Multi-calendar routing and logic Lead data mapping between GHL custom fields and Cal.com metadata Streamlining the VA appointment-setting workflow This role will lead to additional work as we build new features and automations.
