Business Intelligence Engineer, AWS People Analytics

Key job responsibilities • Define, develop, and build business critical metrics and reports across all business levers and key performance indicators • Own and develop key reports and metrics that are consumed by our executive leadership team and partner organization. • Provide thought leadership in deep dives across a variety of key performance indicators. • Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders both in and out of the team • Automate reporting for regular metrics, identify areas of opportunity to automate, scale ad-hoc analyses, build and inform BI tool improvements. • Partner with engineering, product, and business to create key performance indicators and new methodologies for measurement. A day in the life The Business Intelligence Engineer role is responsible for reshaping how the business thinks about its people metrics globally. You will come in and establish relationships across the business and PXT to pinpoint specific metrics and insights that are actionable and provide business impact, build self-service dashboards and tools to put the right data and insights into the hands of PXT and business leaders at the right time. About The Team The AWS People Analytics organization is a critical piece of the AWS PXT flywheel. We are the curators of people data for the industry leaders in cloud computing and are responsible for providing the right metrics and insights to help the business develop its employees and scale its workforce. The work we do enables leaders to make industry-shaking decisions based upon insights we must generate. We also have a great responsibility to treat this data as sacred and be best in class with our data security principles. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in statistics, business analytics, data analytics, data science, computer science or related field • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools • Experience interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements and gaining a deep-dive understanding of key data Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design • Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis • Scripting in Python or similar language Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
