About Global Commercial Services (GCS) and the Commercial Business Enablement (CBE) Department GCS is a fast-growing business that is dedicated to driving the success of businesses around the world. Our CBE department is the critical engine behind GCS's success, responsible for client onboarding and implementations, as well as training and enablement for our sales organization. As a Commercial Enablement Strategy Manager Intern, you'll have the opportunity to work on a critical strategic project that supports our ambition to be necessary to our commercial customers. Key Responsibilities Lead a critical strategic project that supports GCS's ambition to be necessary to our commercial customers Analyze data and insights about the GCS business and our customers to develop effective strategies and efficient processes Collaborate with leaders, colleagues in different time zones, and cross-functional partners to deliver value Develop and present ideas clearly and concisely, using strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate resilience, proactive problem-solving, and a 'can-do' attitude in changing circumstances Challenge the status quo and drive continuous process improvement You'll Be Part of Two Exciting Teams As a Commercial Enablement Strategy Manager Intern, you'll be placed in one of two teams: Sales Enablement, Pricing, & Transformation - Responsible for enabling optimal performance of our sales organization and delivering critical pivotal initiatives for GCS. Onboarding Capabilities - Responsible for defining the core capabilities that shape the onboarding experience for our new customers. Essential Qualifications Currently enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program Graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025 1-3 years of prior full-time work experience Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated interest in the commercial payments business Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to distill down complex concepts or problems independently Intellectual curiosity and desire to continually learn about the changing payments landscape, emerging technologies, and a passion for enhancing the customer experience Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships with leaders, colleagues in different time zones, and cross-functional partners to deliver value Strong project management skills, communication skills, and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely Proficient in analytical and presentation tools, including MS Excel and PowerPoint What We Offer At American Express, we offer a range of benefits and programs that support our colleagues' holistic well-being. Our compensation package is designed to be competitive and rewarding, and we consider factors such as location, experience, and job-related factors when determining pay.
