Contract Position Remote with Occasional Travel Our healthcare client is seeking two Cloud Application Architects for a remote contract position to support large-scale cloud modernization and migration initiatives across Azure and AWS. These roles focus on designing secure, scalable, and compliant architectures for clinical and third-party healthcare applications. Responsibilities • Design and guide cloud architectures for Epic, Cerner, and key ancillary systems. • Lead application assessments, migration strategies, and modernization planning. • Support cloud buildout (compute, storage, security, networking, containers, serverless). • Oversee migration execution, pilots, proofs of concept, and testing. • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare regulatory standards. • Collaborate with clinical, security, infrastructure, and executive stakeholders. Required Experience • 7–10+ years in cloud or enterprise application architecture. • Hands-on experience supporting/integrating Epic, Cerner, or major EMRs. • Proven Azure and/or AWS migration experience. • Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA/HITRUST, and high-availability architectures. • Familiarity with migration tools (Azure Migrate, AWS Migration Hub, CloudEndure, Zerto, etc.). Preferred Experience • Experience delivering hospital or IDN cloud migrations. • AWS or Azure architect certifications. • Background in healthcare provider environments.
