As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our business and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional value to our customers. **Key Responsibilities** As our Customer Accounts and Billing Manager (Manager 2), you will be responsible for leading a team of 14 technical staff, including Accountants and Technicians, in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving process improvements in billing operations. Your key responsibilities will include: * Supervising, coaching, and monitoring the work of team members to ensure adherence to billing procedures and delivery of high-quality results * Designing and implementing comprehensive training programs to elevate staff competencies and ensure adherence to billing procedures * Proactively identifying and driving process enhancements to boost efficiency and accuracy across billing operations * Managing an annual revenue of over $56 million, overseeing diverse billing adjustments and processes * Administering the Utility Discount Program, ensuring accurate and timely processing of billing credits for approximately 17,000 customers * Collaborating closely with SPU partners and city auditors to validate and enhance billing accuracy and efficiency * Cultivating strong relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external partners to foster a collaborative work environment * Supporting and mentoring team members to build a high-performing team and enhance morale * Assisting in projects aimed at improving billing accuracy and implementing new technologies **Requirements** To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills: * Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience related to utility or customer service program management * At least two (2) years of supervisory/lead experience * A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field, or two (2) additional years of qualifying experience * Proven experience in billing management and process improvement * Strong understanding of utility billing practices and regulatory compliance * Excellent organizational and communication skills * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively * Proficiency in relevant software and tools **Nice-to-Haves** While not required, the following skills and qualifications would be highly desirable: * Demonstrated skill in recognizing and rewarding achievements to enhance team morale and drive success * Track record of implementing innovative solutions and holding team members accountable with clear goals and performance metrics **Benefits** As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including: * Dental insurance * Disability insurance * Employee discount * Health insurance * Opportunities for advancement * Vision insurance * Work from home * Generous benefits package * Free public transportation options * City pension plan with employer/employee contributions * Growth potential and advancement opportunities **Why Join blithequark?** At blithequark, we offer a dynamic and supportive work environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and growth.
