Digital/UI Designer for a Social Impact Focused Design Agency

Radish Lab is a purpose-driven creative agency, shaping stories and sharpening brands for organizations improving the world. We specialize in web design, strategy, and branding. We are looking for a Digital/UI Designer with a minimum of six years of professional experience, and an excellent eye for design, detail, and user experience, to partner with us on an upcoming project—with potential for future collaboration if it's a good fit. About You You are passionate about helping to create a just and equitable world. You’re comfortable working within an iterative and collaborative process. You have an intentional, holistic, and systems-thinking approach to your work. You’re equally energized creating and crafting narratives around design concepts as well as providing the polishing details to design going out the door. You’ve got ideas, you find inspiration around you, and you’ve got your finger on the pulse of what’s awesome in design right now. You're comfortable working as an embedded collaborator on a small agency team. Plus, you’ve got a sense of humor. What You’ll Do For this engagement, you'll be designing a website for a nonprofit client under the management of our Design Director with feedback and support from our Creative Director. Working from an approved creative direction (a Figma file establishing typography, color, and design language) and wireframes, you'll develop a polished, production-ready UI in Figma—translating strategic intent into visual design with careful attention to responsive behavior, accessibility, and developer handoff. Future projects may be available depending on fit and capacity. They might include similar web work, branding, or campaign design. Terms This is a contract position. Projects are scoped as flat-fee engagements based on internal estimates benchmarked against past projects—we target a rate equivalent of $70–90/hour. Scope changes are communicated and agreed upon before additional work begins. Location Radish Lab is a remote agency. For this position, you must be within 3 hours of the EST timezone. At least six of your working hours must be within the hours of 7AM and 8PM EST. We do not offer sponsorship at this time. No recruiters, please. • Minimum of six years of professional experience, preferably in an agency • Expert-level Figma skills including components, variables, styles, and auto-layout • Strong understanding of design systems • Experience developing responsive UI designs based on established creative direction • Experience preparing production-ready Figma files with clear annotations for developer handoff • Ability to flag technical constraints, edge cases, and accessibility considerations proactively • Experience incorporating feedback and collaborating with design leadership and developers • Must be within 3 hours of the EST timezone Nice to Have • Experience working with nonprofits or in an agency setting • Experience presenting to stakeholders or clients Apply tot his job
