About the position Ameriprise Financial, Inc. seeks a Director - Data Scientist, in Minneapolis, MN. To identify, develop, and implement analytical solutions, while leveraging tools such as predictive modeling, advanced machine learning techniques, simulation, and optimization solutions. Identify/interpret business needs, define high-level business requirements, strategy, technical risks, and scope, and engage with business leaders and analysts to provide analytical thought leadership for business problems. Base Pay Salary The estimated base salary for this role is $165,800 - $194,600 a year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. Responsibilities • To identify, develop, and implement analytical solutions, while leveraging tools such as predictive modeling, advanced machine learning techniques, simulation, and optimization solutions. • Identify/interpret business needs, define high-level business requirements, strategy, technical risks, and scope, and engage with business leaders and analysts to provide analytical thought leadership for business problems. Requirements • Master's degree in business analytics, statistics, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in the following: advanced statistical concepts and techniques with skills in linear algebra • conducting hands-on analytics projects using advanced statistical methods, including generalized regression models, Bayesian methods, Random Forest, gradient boosting, neural networks, machine learning, and clustering • statistical programming (SAS, Python, SQL) and data visualization software in a data-rich environment.
