Now, we're seeking a talented Director of User Experience to join our high-energy User Experience Design team and help us create best-in-class digital experiences for our mobile app products. About the Role As the Director of User Experience Design for our mobile app products, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the vision for our account profile and trips experiences. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineers, and other designers to deliver data-driven, user-centered product design that sparks delight and advances cohesion across the travel journey. Your expertise will help us create industry-leading experiences that set us apart in the hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities Lead the design process for our mobile app products, driving the creative process from concept to design documentation and execution. Direct and guide designers, including internal associates, contractors, and agencies, to ensure the delivery of high-quality design solutions. Collaborate with product management, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design solutions. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our customers' physical and digital environments and how they impact the design of the Marriott Bonvoy App. Balance user, business, and technical needs to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs and drive business outcomes. Drive the development of design solutions that are rooted in user-centered thinking, with a focus on delivering seamless experiences across channels. Lead design critiques and feedback sessions to ensure continuous improvement and growth. Communicate design concepts and solutions effectively to various stakeholders, including product management, engineers, and executives. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: 8+ years of relevant UX/product design experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage and lead design teams. A 4-year undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience/certification. A strong portfolio that showcases your UX and interaction design skills, visual design aesthetic, and user-centered thinking. Experience designing for mobile apps, with a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of mobile design. A good mix of UX/UI, visual design, and interaction design expertise, with the ability to balance different design disciplines. Proven ability to translate complex design challenges into clear, user-friendly experiences. Collaborative, highly organized, and strong attention to detail, with excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Experience with motion design and animation, with a deep understanding of how to apply these skills to enhance the user experience. Experience working on major, large-scale global digital apps or websites within the commerce or travel space. The ability to balance the science behind data and the creative idea in front of you, with a strong understanding of how to apply data-driven insights to inform design decisions. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including facilitation, presentation, and storytelling.
