About the position Ichor Strategies is seeking a Consultant to join their Research team, focusing on economic research. The role involves data collection and analysis to support the preparation of economic reports and studies, advising on business decisions based on financial and socioeconomic data. This full-time position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring three days in the office and occasional evening or weekend work, with some travel for client meetings or events. Responsibilities • Monitor and assess global, national, and local economic, political, and financial developments, providing updates and insights to senior staff and clients. • Develop frameworks for conducting economic impact analyses and economic modeling, focusing on the socioeconomic effects of client capital investments on communities. • Perform predictive analytics and forecasting to assess the impact of economic and political events on client and community interests. • Conduct cost-benefit analyses on new projects and services internally and for clients. • Perform market research, modeling, and forecasting to understand competitive dynamics, regulatory changes, payer landscape, and industry trends over time. • Research economic factors affecting consumer demand and market opportunities. • Integrate localized economic insights with broader sociopolitical research. • Create and maintain technical documentation for statistical methods, training junior staff as needed. • Produce various deliverables, such as peer benchmarking reports, market research, policy memos, and pain point analyses. • Manage and update data repositories to collect, compile, and organize data. • Present research findings through data visualizations, tables, charts, and reports in-person and in written form to clients or business development targets. • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely deliverable production. Requirements • Masters degree in a related field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Statistics, or MBA) • 5 to 7 years of full-time professional experience in economic analysis, research, or a related field • Proficiency in writing, online search tools and databases, qualitative and quantitative analysis, data visualization, and proofreading. • Deep understanding of macroeconomic and microeconomic concepts and their effects on populations and decision-making. • Understanding of statistical concepts and their application to client deliverables and internal processes. • Proficiency in using tools to develop economic analyses, such as RIMS II multipliers from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.), Meltwater and Bloomberg Terminal. • Experience using software such as R or JMP. • Proficiency with Stata or R. • Experience in an analytical role, with a quantitative aptitude and an understanding of data equity practices. • Demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of politics, business, financial terms, legal and regulatory issues, and general news knowledge. • Experience managing projects from start to completion. • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively across different levels of the organization and with external audiences, demonstrating cultural proficiency and sensitivity. • Demonstrated leadership skills and flexibility in shifting priorities and situations.
