Description • Drive high-impact energy analytics for battery, solar, wind, hybrid and thermal projects across the US and Europe using Ascend’s flagship PowerVAL platform, translating complex market data into bankable valuations that underpin more than $50 billion in project financing decisions. • Lead end-to-end client engagements—from initial scoping through final presentation—guiding developers, investors and utilities as they site, size and optimize new assets, ensuring each study aligns with regulatory standards and investor expectations. • Perform rigorous dispatch simulations that leverage 20-year, sub-hourly, nodal price forecasts generated by Ascend’s Market Intelligence team, calibrating models to reflect evolving grid conditions, policy shifts and technology cost curves. • Translate technical findings into clear, decision-ready insights: build dynamic dashboards, craft executive summaries and present results to C-suite stakeholders, enabling confident go/no-go investment decisions and strategic portfolio adjustments. • Continuously enhance PowerVAL functionality by identifying gaps in current methodologies, prototyping new analytical features and collaborating with software engineers to deploy scalable solutions that keep Ascend at the forefront of market intelligence. • Mentor junior analysts on power-market economics, financial modeling best practices and client communication, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth within a fully remote yet tightly knit team. • Monitor regulatory filings, ISO market rule changes and emerging technologies (e.g., long-duration storage, hydrogen electrolysis, vehicle-to-grid) to ensure forecasts and valuations reflect the most current market realities. • Contribute to thought-leadership pieces, webinars and conference presentations that showcase Ascend’s innovations, elevating both your personal brand and the company’s reputation among utilities, IPPs and financial institutions. • Collaborate cross-functionally with data science, product management and sales teams to prioritize roadmap features, refine pricing strategies and close new business, ensuring PowerVAL remains the industry’s gold-standard valuation engine. • Maintain meticulous version control, documentation and QA/QC protocols so that every model, dataset and client deliverable meets the highest standards of accuracy, transparency and auditability demanded by banks and regulators alike. • Balance multiple fast-moving projects without compromising analytical rigor, using agile workflows and cloud-based tools to deliver high-quality results on tight deadlines while working from any location. • Champion Ascend’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion by participating in recruiting initiatives, employee resource groups and community outreach that broaden access to careers in clean energy analytics.
