Overview The ETL Developer plays a crucial role in the organization's data landscape, focusing on the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from multiple sources into a unified data warehouse. This position is essential for maintaining data integrity, accuracy, and availability to meet business needs. As a key member of the data engineering team, the ETL Developer will ensure that data flows seamlessly across systems, enabling timely reporting and analytics. By developing robust ETL pipelines, the ETL Developer helps to deliver a data-driven approach that empowers decision-making processes within the organization. This role is particularly important as businesses increasingly rely on data to drive strategy, optimize operations, and understand customer behavior. The individual in this role must possess strong technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The ETL Developer will work on a W2 contract basis, primarily serving clients based in Texas. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to support data integration from multiple sources. Implement data transformation and cleansing routines to ensure data quality and reliability. Collaborate with data architects and analysts to identify data requirements and structure. Develop and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and processing. Monitor ETL jobs for performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies. Participate in data modeling activities to support warehouse design. Document ETL processes and technical specifications for future reference. Work with cloud-based data integration tools and platforms. Test data workflows and validate outputs to ensure accuracy and performance standards. Maintain and enhance existing ETL pipelines to improve efficiency. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new data solutions. Stay current with emerging ETL technologies and best practices. Provide technical support and assistance to data users within the organization. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 2+ years of experience as an ETL Developer or in similar role. Proficient in ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Microsoft SSIS. Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL. Understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies. Experience with data modeling and database design. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Knowledge of data governance and best practices for data stewardship. Experience in performance tuning and optimization of ETL processes. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills for technical documentation and report presentation. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Experience in Agile methodologies is a plus. Relevant certifications in ETL or data management are desirable.
