We're Hiring: Evening Math & Science Tutors (AP-Level) — Remote, Part-Time We’re currently hiring tutors with strong AP-level math and/or science expertise, who can also support students in additional subjects as needed. This role is ONLY a fit if you can consistently tutor between 5–9pm Pacific Time at least 2 weekdays. Application: About Us Kate’s Tutoring is a student-focused, supportive online tutoring company. Who We’re Looking For We’re currently hiring experienced tutors with strong AP-level math and/or science expertise, who can also confidently teach additional subjects as needed. • Math (especially Precalculus, AP Calculus, Statistics and Beyond) • Science through AP levels (especially Chemistry, Physics, and Biology) • Test prep — all sections of the SAT & ACT • Other subjects are a wonderful bonus! We especially want to meet you if you are available weekday evenings (4–10pm Pacific Time) and/or weekends — our students are mostly on the West Coast and need after-school support. You’ll Be a Great Fit If You... • Are a clear, confident communicator with a warm and engaging teaching style • Have deep subject knowledge and can switch gears between different topics easily • Enjoy working with students • Are self-motivated, tech-savvy, and comfortable teaching on Zoom • Have a flexible and professional approach — you’re responsive, organized, and invested in your students' success • Are US-based Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree • US citizen and resident • You must be confident teaching at least ONE of the following at an AP or advanced high school level: • Upper level math • Science/s • 2+ years of teaching or tutoring experience with K–12 students • Strong academic background (GPA 3.5+ or equivalent academic performance) • Fluent in English • Reliable computer with webcam and fast internet • Able to pass a background check (or provide a current teaching credential) Important Requirements • Applicants must reside in the United States. • States we are NOT hiring in: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and West Virginia. What You’ll Do • Provide 1:1 or small-group tutoring in a fully remote setting • Design personalized lesson plans and adapt on the fly as needed • Track student progress and communicate with families as appropriate • Foster student confidence, not just competence The Details • Position type: Independent Contractor • Pay: $20–30/hour, based on experience and subject area • Schedule: Flexible, but consistent weekly availability preferred. Evening and weekend availability is a huge plus. • Location: Remote (U.S.-based only) • This role is best suited for tutors seeking a steady, part-time evening commitment rather than occasional or one-off sessions.
