Capital Title is committed to the goal of providing our customers with a superior experience. Summary: The Examiner I position reports to the Title Production Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in the title industry as an abstractor, examiner or escrow processor. This individual will have the ability to prioritize a high volume of work, be adaptable to change, and contribute to a positive, upbeat, and collaborative work environment essential to the success of the organization. Primary Job Responsibilities: • Updated commitments when an order changes. (Including but not limited to: pre-order to purchase order, new buyers, and updates prior to closing.) • Review ownership history to identify changes to the current owner(s) and interested parties. • Review and analyze deeds, mortgages, assignments, discharges, affidavits, judgments, taxes/assessments, agreements, court orders, trust documents, easements, covenants, BURS, Master Deeds, amendments, maps and surveys, tract indexes, etc. • Review and analyze legal descriptions. • Investigate matters involving inaccurate, contradictory, incomplete and/or missing information. Qualifications and Competencies: • 5 yrs experience in the title industry, as an abstractor, examiner or escrow processor. • Must transfer or obtain Michigan Title Producer License • Knowledge and understanding of real estate transactions • Knowledge of land records, land standards and title insurance underwriting standards • Excellent data entry and typing skills • Able to maintain performance with a high standard of accuracy • Capable of managing multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously and efficiently without direct supervision • Detail oriented, analytical thinking and high-level organizational skills • Proven ability to adapt quickly and drive results • Able to perform with a high level of integrity and ethics • Proven ability to work under pressure and successfully manage high-volume processing • Ability to collaborate and communicate with others in a professional manner Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Employee assistance program • Employee discount • Flexible schedule • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Parental leave • Referral program • Retirement plan • Tuition reimbursement • Vision insurance Experience: • title industry: 5 years (Required) License/Certification: • Michigan Title Producer License (Preferred) Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
