About the Role We're seeking an experienced 6th Grade Teacher to join our team as a Remote Education Specialist. As a Matchbook Learning teacher, you'll be a teacher, a project advisor, and a learning facilitator. You'll provide targeted small-group instruction, lead whole group discussions, coach students as they work with individualized online learning tools, and collaborate with peers to ensure high levels of student achievement. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction to 6th grade students in a virtual setting Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners Use data-driven instruction to drive student achievement and growth Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instruction Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues through various channels Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives and programs Essential Qualifications State Standard teaching certification or equivalent out-of-state certificate At least two years of teaching experience in an urban or low-income setting (preferred) Demonstrated a record of success in the classroom (as a classroom teacher preferred, assistant and student teaching evidence considered) Demonstrated an understanding of how to effectively analyze student data to guide instruction Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment Entrepreneurial heart and mindset, with a willingness to take on challenges and try new approaches Preferred Qualifications Experience with blended learning models and online platforms Knowledge of curriculum design and development Experience with data analysis and interpretation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Offer We're committed to providing our teachers with the support and resources they need to succeed.
