Our String Department is comprised of 40 graduate and 60 undergraduate string majors, offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes studio instruction, chamber music coaching, and courses in string pedagogy, orchestral repertoire, and non-jazz improvisation for strings. We offer a range of music degrees, including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music in Performance, Bachelor of Music Education, Master of Music in Performance and in Performance/Pedagogy, Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance, and Artist Diplomas in Solo Performance and Orchestral Performance. Key Responsibilities Teach applied violin, weekly studio class, chamber music, and other related courses in the string area, such as orchestral repertoire and basic improvisation. Chair graduate violin student committees and supervise theses and projects for graduate performance/pedagogy and doctoral violin students. Serve on additional student committees and participate in regional and national recruiting efforts. Maintain an active performing career, showcasing your artistic expertise and contributing to the College's rich musical landscape. Engage in College and University service activities, sharing your expertise and contributing to the institution's governance and growth. What We Offer As a tenure-track faculty member at the University of Colorado Boulder, you will enjoy a competitive salary, ranging from $69,000 to $100,000 per annum, depending on your rank and experience. Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this position, you must possess: An earned doctorate in violin performance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
