About the Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Skillman, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting Collaborate with other teachers and staff to achieve school goals and objectives Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor A NJ Substitute Credential A background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with educational technology and software Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong teaching and classroom management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the ongoing learning and professional development of our Substitute Teachers.
