The Role of a CDL Route Driver As a CDL Route Driver at Viking Coca-Cola, you're not just a driver; you're a brand ambassador, a customer service representative, and a vital part of our operations team. Your day will be filled with a variety of tasks that require a mix of technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure the safety and roadworthiness of our vehicles. Verify inventory during the check-out process to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Deliver our products to customer locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Unload and merchandise products according to our high standards, ensuring an appealing presentation. Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, collecting payments and handling returned products and empty pallets. Utilize handheld devices for invoicing, ensuring seamless transactions and maintaining accurate records. Maintain open communication with our sales team to coordinate effective marketing displays and promotions. Keep company vehicles clean and organized, adhering to our high standards of vehicle maintenance. Requirements for Success To thrive as a CDL Route Driver at Viking Coca-Cola, you'll need a combination of technical knowledge, skills, and personal qualities. Here's what we're looking for: Essential Qualifications: A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), demonstrating your ability to operate our vehicles safely and efficiently. A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Check, as per our Vehicle Safety Policy, to ensure you're cleared to drive for us. A thorough understanding of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques, ensuring safety on the road. Strong written and organizational skills, necessary for completing paperwork accurately and understandably. Excellent communication skills, as you'll be interacting with customers and team members regularly. Basic math skills to handle invoicing effectively and accurately. A solid grasp of technology, enabling you to utilize handheld devices efficiently. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the beverage or delivery industry. A proven track record of safety, reliability, and customer service excellence. Familiarity with our products and brand, or a willingness to learn and become an expert.
