As a Chef De Partie on one of our vessels, you'll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You'll be part of a close-knit team that includes the Junior Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine, working together to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Team Management: You'll lead Commis Chefs and Demi CDP's, guiding them in their tasks and ensuring that your section of the galley operates smoothly. Culinary Excellence: You'll be responsible for preparing dishes to the highest standards, following company recipe guidelines, and ensuring that plate presentations meet Disney's quality expectations. Operational Efficiency: Organizing your daily responsibilities, you'll ensure that your area is ready for service, adhering to opening and closing procedures and maintaining equipment. Safety and Compliance: You'll be expected to meet Disney Cruise Line and Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) requirements, demonstrating your knowledge of safe food handling practices and HACCP/USPH standards. Maintenance and Reporting: Monitoring the handling and maintenance of operating equipment and reporting any maintenance needs to the Junior Sous Chef. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you'll need: Culinary Training and Experience: A minimum of two years of formal culinary training plus 3 years of work experience, or a minimum of 6 years of work experience with at least 2 years in a comparable role. This can include accredited culinary schools or recognized apprenticeships. Ship Experience: Previous experience working in a shipboard kitchen is highly valued, as it demonstrates your ability to adapt to the unique challenges of cooking at sea. Culinary Skills: Proficiency in all kitchen stations, safe food handling practices, and the ability to follow and convert recipes are essential. Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not mandatory, having the following skills and experiences can make you a more competitive candidate: Leadership Experience: Previous experience leading a team in a kitchen environment. Creativity and Innovation: The ability to bring new ideas to the table and contribute to menu development.
