Job Overview As a Custom Circuits Design Engineer at blithequark, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing advanced custom digital megacells, including SRAM memories, on-chip sensors, and ML accelerators. Your expertise will be crucial in developing low-power, high-performance SOC designs that enable us to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities Design custom circuits to improve chip power efficiency, working closely with the power team, PD, and designers to define specifications and requirements Perform design, analysis, modeling/simulation, circuit-level specifications, schematic capture, spice simulation/edge checking across PVT, statistical design, functional verification, and silicon bring-up Collaborate with the layout team to complete the design and ensure design quality, driving circuit processes to achieve the highest design quality metrics Conduct investigations during silicon debug, manufacturing, and testing data, using scripting to support efficient handling of ATE data Develop and implement groundbreaking ideas, working with a team of dedicated engineers to integrate and innovate Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering) and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience Experience in designing low-voltage/low-power custom circuits, with a deep understanding of deep submicron device physics, leakage mechanisms, and technology interactions with device behavior Strong understanding of device integration, device noise sources (1/f, thermal), external noise sources (supply, jitter), and their impact on high-precision circuits Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/Perl or others) and CAD automation tools, with knowledge of industry-standard circuit and design tools Preferred Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following areas: AI accelerators, SRAM circuits, non-volatile memories, weak/moderate inversion circuits, super low-power amplifiers, DC/DC converters, digital on-chip sensors, fast timing, time-to-digital converters (TDCs) Familiarity with asynchronous message passing and behavioral models for asynchronous message blocks Experience with circuit simulation and modeling tools, such as SPICE or Verilog-AMS Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
