Job Overview The Customer Development Manager will serve as the Insights and Analytics expert, supporting a Top National Customer like Costco. This role requires a unique blend of analytical, thought leadership, and communication skills to execute category strategies that align with customer priorities. Primary Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the Customer Development Manager include: Managing data sources to monitor the field execution of vendor programs and assortments, with a focus on customers like Costco. Communicating complex and detailed information to multiple individuals and audiences with differing knowledge levels, both internally and externally. Staying informed of analytic best practices across the industry and providing effective information to deliver sales, margin, and market development goals. Analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions. Tracking category performance, including sales, profits, margins, and market share, with a focus on national customers. Developing, communicating, executing, and monitoring specific performance metrics and goals relevant to each business as part of regular, scheduled business reviews. Creating and delivering effective reports using POS data, Syndicated Data, and account-specific database information in presentation-ready formats. Evaluating and making recommendations on supplier performance to enhance the company's inventory and fill rate objectives. Understanding and applying customer, consumer, and industry insights using market research data to deliver category growth. Ensuring superior client satisfaction by providing hands-on deep analytics and contributing to team problem-solving. Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and performing other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should have: A Bachelor's Degree and experience within the CPG sector, with Adult Beverage experience preferred, and experience working with customers like Costco being a significant value-add. Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills. The ability to incorporate and interpret data from multiple unrelated data sources into concise, action-oriented recommendations. Understanding of National Chain Sales, Retail, and Distributor operations, with a focus on customers like Costco. Expertise in category management principles, syndicated data, and shopper/consumer insights (Numerator/Spectra, etc.). Ability to collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams to deliver insights and recommendations. Assertive leadership and decision-making skills with an aptitude for understanding changing market dynamics and resolving complex problems. Preferred experience working with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), Internal Shipment Data, and Household Panel. Strong leadership, decision-making capability, and a proven track record of success. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
