Job Overview In this role, you will be responsible for modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, ensuring that every customer interaction is courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient. You will be the face of blithequark, providing exceptional service to our customers, answering questions, resolving issues, and making recommendations to drive sales and customer satisfaction. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in creating a positive and engaging in-store experience that drives customer loyalty and retention. Key Responsibilities Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience, ensuring that every customer interaction is courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient Registers sales on assigned cash register, provides customers with fast and efficient checkout service, and processes transactions accurately and securely Engages customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and blithequark service traits Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service, recommends items for sale, and recommends trade-up and/or companion items to drive sales and customer satisfaction Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash and distributes change as requested, and processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records, ensuring that the store is always clean, neat, and orderly Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise, and completes resets and revisions as directed Assists with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures, and assists in stock rotation, using the first in, first out method and restock outs Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print and creative machine, suggestive sell of promotional photo products, and assumes web pick-up responsibilities Essential Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 1-2 years of customer service experience in a retail environment, preferably in a similar role Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers and provide exceptional service Basic math skills, with the ability to process transactions accurately and securely Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with the ability to stand for long periods of time and move around the store as needed Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in a retail environment, preferably in a customer-facing role Knowledge of store systems and store equipment, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Basic knowledge of inventory management and control, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports Ability to work in a team environment, with the ability to build strong relationships with coworkers and management Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Customer Focus : The ability to understand and meet the needs of our customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring that every interaction is positive and engaging Communication Skills : The ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management, both verbally and in writing Teamwork : The ability to work collaboratively with others, building strong relationships and working towards common goals Adaptability : The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, including changes in the store environment, customer needs, and business priorities Problem-Solving : The ability to resolve customer issues and answer questions, using problem-solving skills and creativity to find solutions Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees, providing opportunities for career advancement and professional development.
