Job Overview As a Customer Service Associate at blithequark, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every customer has a positive and memorable shopping experience. Your duties will include assisting customers with questions and recommendations, managing sales transactions, maintaining the security of cash and protecting company assets, and keeping the store well-stocked and recovered. You will be responsible for creating a positive, safe, and respectful environment for our customers, associates, and leaders, and maintaining professional and friendly interactions at all times. Key Responsibilities Assist customers with questions and recommendations, providing personalized service and ensuring that their needs are met Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register, maintaining accuracy and efficiency Maintain the security of cash and protect company assets, adhering to company policies and procedures Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise, ensuring that the store is always presentable and well-organized Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent customer service and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, and leaders. You will need to be highly organized, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Essential Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is preferred Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required Strong organizational and communication skills are required Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in a retail environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm Strong knowledge of products and services, with the ability to make recommendations and provide personalized service Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a positive and supportive attitude Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our associates.
