A Day in the Life of a Customer Service Representative at blithequark As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch support to our customers, answering a high volume of inbound phone calls, and resolving issues related to dental insurance benefits and claims. Key Responsibilities: Answering a high volume of inbound phone calls, providing accurate information about dental insurance benefits and claims, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Listening attentively and asking questions to further determine the needs, requests, or concerns of subscribers and dental offices, and providing personalized support and solutions. Thoroughly documenting calls to include contact information, nature of the call, and resolution provided, ensuring that all customer interactions are accurately recorded and easily accessible. Utilizing multiple resources to research and resolve any issues related to the inquiry, and providing a follow-up response to ensure that customers' concerns are fully addressed. Assisting with claims processing, including entry of claims, requesting information from customers, sending out refund requests, quarterly statements, and other communication as needed, to ensure that customers receive timely and accurate information about their claims. Answering calls or written inquiries regarding pre-tax spending accounts, such as health and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA), and other employee benefits (vision, COBRA, etc.), and providing expert guidance and support. Exhibiting a positive, professional demeanor and tact throughout all calls, ensuring that customers feel valued, respected, and supported. Consistently adhering to all customer service performance metrics, such as call documentation, quality and accuracy of information provided, etc., to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service and support. Requirements for Success To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of skills, experience, and personal qualities that enable you to provide exceptional customer service, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve our goals. Essential Qualifications: High school diploma, with some college preferred, and a strong foundation in customer service, communication, and problem-solving. Two years of experience in a high-volume customer service setting, with a proven track record of providing exceptional support and resolving complex issues. Previous experience in the healthcare/dental field, benefits claims, or consumer-driven health plans is preferred, with a strong understanding of industry trends, regulations, and best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail, and the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, structured call center setting, with a strong focus on teamwork, collaboration, and customer satisfaction. Ability to utilize various technology platforms for effective communication, problem-solving, and relaying information to constituents, with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and virtual communication applications such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc. Ability to understand and become knowledgeable of Release of Information policies and procedures and HIPAA regulations, completing work in compliance with these and other standards, and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with a strong ability to self-motivate, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively. Knowledge of dental insurance benefits, claims processing, and industry regulations, with a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic and evolving field.
