About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for handling incoming phone calls and being the primary customer interface for inquiries. You will inform and educate members, serve as a member advocate, build trust in our abilities, and be the voice of the customer. By using established best practices, attending ongoing training, and utilizing resources and tools, you will serve as the expert to help navigate through the challenging world of insurance. Key Responsibilities Interface with customers via telephone, written correspondence, fax, web, and/or electronic mail Research customer information utilizing appropriate systems, policies, regulations, procedures, and other reference materials to effectively respond to and resolve customer issues Elevate sensitive customer requests when necessary Comply with State and Federal regulations and mandates, which are continually changing, thus creating a very dynamic environment Take initiative to stay current on policies and procedures required to support the customer and to ensure compliance Accountable to remain current on knowledge of diverse products and proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability Essential Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must have: High School Diploma or Equivalent and three years of experience in a complaint type customer service office setting (health insurance or related field preferred) Availability for training 9-12 Weeks in length Reliable internet service provider as well as dedicated, distraction-free workplace Preferred Qualifications The strongest candidates for this position will also possess: Basic medical/dental terminology and contract interpretation is a plus Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on customer satisfaction Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers. You will also need to be highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Additionally, you will need to be proficient in using computer systems and software applications, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
