Key Responsibilities As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include: Providing all customer service support for the Review Team, including interacting with beneficiaries and providers via the helpline, creating, formatting, and proofreading letters, and maintaining timeliness. Making decisions regarding complex appeals, utilizing your excellent judgment and customer service skills to resolve issues efficiently and effectively. Communicating verbally and in writing with external customers to furnish and request review information, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions. Fostering effective working relationships between blithequark's internal and external customers, promoting a collaborative and supportive environment. Participating in the identification of areas for potential improvement within the Review Team, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our processes and services. Answering the Beneficiary Helpline, determining the best course of action to assist callers, and referring them to external agencies as necessary, while ensuring accurate and timely entry of referrals into the CMS system. Ensuring all letters are sent out in a timely manner with correct components included and reviewed for grammatical and spacing errors, maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail. Obtaining and validating notices and all components of medical records, and providing intake for all appeals received by blithequark, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A high school diploma or equivalent, with post-high school business courses being helpful. Medical terminology knowledge is desired, but not required, as we provide training and support for professional development. Excellent verbal communication skills, a courteous and patient demeanor, and the ability to maintain composure under potentially stressful situations, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service. Good grammar, punctuation, spelling, hyphenation, and written communication skills, with the ability to express complex ideas clearly and concisely. A customer-focused, results-oriented approach, with the capability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, and support team decisions. General knowledge of a PC-based computer system is desirable, with the ability to learn additional software packages as needed, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn. The ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and work independently, with good organizational skills and a flexible approach to your work. Preferred qualifications include two to three years of clerical experience, including word processing, various filing systems, and telephone customer service responsibilities, with prior work in a healthcare setting or medical terminology being a plus.
