Your flexible work-from-home arrangement will allow you to work at your own pace, making it an ideal fit for individuals seeking a balanced work-life schedule. **What You'll Be Doing** As a Customer Support Representative at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include: * Answering inbound calls from individuals seeking assistance with public benefit programs * Interacting with customers in a professional, empathetic, and compassionate manner, ensuring they receive the support they need * Providing information in accordance with established policies, procedures, and privacy laws * Assisting customers with program enrollment, including routing them to the appropriate contacts via three-way calls * Assisting customers with their communication needs, such as relay services for callers with speech or hearing impairments, translation services for callers who don't speak English, and more * Placing outbound calls as needed to share time-sensitive information with customers * Using multiple computer systems to access data and document information **About You** To succeed as a Customer Support Representative at blithequark, you should have: * At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in a health or human services setting * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner * Great active listening skills, with the ability to understand and address customer concerns * Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document customer interactions * Strong PC skills, including the ability to quickly learn new computer applications * A positive attitude, with a passion for helping others * Empathy, patience, and professionalism, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations * Strong multitasking skills and the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment * The ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable programs, policies, and procedures * Good problem-solving and de-escalation skills, with the ability to resolve customer complaints in a fair and timely manner * The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information **Your Home Office Environment** To work as a Customer Support Representative at blithequark, you will need: * A computer meeting the following criteria: + Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (Macs and Chromebooks are not supported at this time) + Memory: 8GB of RAM + CPUs (Speed * Processors): 6 + Hard Drive: At least 500MB of free space + Sound: sound card (standard on most computers) + Up-to-date antivirus software + Access to high-speed, hardwired internet (no Wi-Fi or Satellite, please) + Dual monitors + A USB noise-cancelling headset + A webcam for your certification experience **Where blithequark Contracts** blithequark contracts with people in 31 states, excluding AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, ME, MN, MO, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT, WA, and WI. We do not currently contract with anyone outside of the US. **Flexible Hours of Operation** As a Customer Support Representative at blithequark, you'll enjoy flexible scheduling, where you use a self-scheduling platform to select when you work and when you don't, within the client's hours of operation. Hours of operation are: * Monday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET * Tuesday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET * Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 01:00 PM ET * Thursday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET This opportunity is perfect for someone seeking roughly 10-15 hours per week so they can easily schedule around other commitments! **Pay and Perks** This flexible opportunity pays independent contractors $13 per hour.
