Job Overview The role of a Data Engineer at arenaflex is to harness the strength of data by making it accessible, available, and curated for reporting and analysis. As a member of the Operations Analysis and Performance (OAP) department, you will be part of a team responsible for curating Single Source of Truth data tables, generating and distributing automated reporting, and leading efforts to transition to modern data and reporting tools. Your expertise will serve as a central hub for efficient data processing and control, enabling the organization to make data-driven decisions and drive business success. Key Responsibilities Locate and extract data from multiple sources for use in analysis, models, and project development, ensuring accuracy and relevance. Clean and curate datasets by studying new data sources and collaborating with other business units to determine the best source of information, aggregating views into meaningful hierarchies. Familiarize yourself with data environments and collaborate to enhance automated reports and analyses in support of divisional leaders and business units, promoting data-driven decision-making. Leverage emerging technologies and proactively explore efficient and meaningful ways to communicate data and analysis, enabling divisional needs to be met and exceeded. Support strategy development and project management engagements for individual business units and cross-divisional initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Train and mentor other team members in various skills and subjects, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Practice security-aware behaviors in all operational techniques and procedures, prioritizing the protection of sensitive information and assets. Essential Qualifications 3+ years of associated experience in data engineering, analysis, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results. Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns, with the ability to design and implement efficient data pipelines. Proficiency with Python, SAS, or other comparable tools and programming languages, with a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. Ability to troubleshoot a reporting database environment, identifying and resolving issues quickly and effectively. Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously, managing multiple requests with varying timelines and priorities. Self-starter with a resilient, solution-minded approach to complex problems, working individually or in a team to achieve goals. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal information, adhering to organizational policies and procedures. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency, with a minimum age of 18 and authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, or another applicable quantitative field, with a strong academic foundation in data analysis and engineering. Previous airline experience, with a deep understanding of the industry and its unique challenges and opportunities. Working knowledge of and/or experience with cloud-based solutions (i.e., Azure, AWS, GPC, etc.), with a strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
