About the Role We're looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our Matching and Relevance Team, a research and development organization that collaborates with partners across the company. As a Data Scientist, you'll play a critical role in preparing datasets, training and optimizing models, and maintaining and improving model inference services. You'll have the opportunity to research and apply new techniques from open-source applications and research publications, and creatively adapt models to solve business problems across Indeed. Key Responsibilities Develop machine learning models from prototype to production, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure Implement best practices for evaluation, monitoring, and MLOps to drive model performance and reliability Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization on model inference and product applications Participate in code review and process innovation for software engineers and data scientists on the team, and report your work Balance technical and product thinking, and demonstrate ownership for team goals and Indeed's mission to help people get jobs Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (such as Computer Science, Math, the physical sciences, the social sciences, or related fields) 2+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or Machine Learning Engineer Significant domain expertise with training, fine-tuning, and evaluating large models Knowledge and hands-on experience working with Deep Learning Libraries (like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Huggingface, etc.) Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experience will give you a competitive edge: Knowledge of recommendation systems, specifically ranking algorithms Prior experience in productionizing machine learning models at scale Basic working knowledge of Java What We Offer At Indeed, we're committed to providing a comprehensive Total Rewards package that reflects our appreciation for our employees.
