Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, providing regular feedback and updates on student progress, and maintaining open lines of communication to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and involved. Participate in staff development activities and professional growth opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in drama and theater arts education, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. Sponsor extracurricular activities and clubs related to drama and theater arts, providing students with opportunities to explore their interests and talents outside of the regular classroom, and promoting a sense of school spirit and community engagement. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Drama, Theater Arts, or a related field, with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of drama and theater arts education. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements in Drama or Theater Arts, demonstrating a commitment to meeting the highest standards of professional practice and a passion for teaching and learning. At least one year of student teaching or approved internship experience, with a proven track record of success in the classroom and a deep understanding of the needs and abilities of diverse learners. Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned, with a strong knowledge of curriculum and instruction, and the ability to design and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community members to promote student learning and success. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Drama, Theater Arts, or a related field, with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of drama and theater arts education, and a deep understanding of the needs and abilities of diverse learners. Experience in directing or producing theatrical productions, with a proven track record of success in promoting student engagement and achievement in the arts. Knowledge of foreign languages, with the ability to teach drama and theater arts in a bilingual or multilingual setting, and a commitment to promoting cultural diversity and understanding. Experience with technology integration in the classroom, with the ability to use digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning, and promote student engagement and achievement. Special education training or experience, with a deep understanding of the needs and abilities of students with diverse learning needs, and a commitment to promoting inclusion and accessibility in the classroom. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of drama and theater arts principles, theories, and practices, with the ability to design and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that promote student learning and success. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community members to promote student learning and success. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and resilient approach to teaching and learning, and a commitment to ongoing professional development and growth. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
