Job Overview We are currently seeking a talented and compassionate Early Learning Specialist to join our team in Dunedin, FL. As an Early Learning Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to infants and toddlers in an early head start classroom environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, develop, and implement daily lesson plans that provide educational and enrichment activities for infants and toddlers Screen and assess infant and toddler-aged children to determine developmental/educational needs and develop individual education plans Maintain a safe and healthy environment for infants and toddlers, including monitoring meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities, and playground activities Document children's progress and complete required manual and computerized forms and reports Initiate referrals to the appropriate Head Start Teacher and maintain positive relationships with parents and community volunteers Plan and coordinate field trips, request supplies and equipment, and inspect classrooms and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness Discuss plans and coordinate concerns regarding the child and family with other Early Head Start staff Perform First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as needed and maintain strict confidentiality with respect to Head Start/Early Head Start children, families, and staff Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent A National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement One year of experience in teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school, or kindergarten-aged children Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infant/toddler education, behavior modification theories, and current educational techniques Ability to resolve conflicts between toddler-aged children, plan and implement infant/toddler education curriculums, and prepare and maintain work-related reports and files Ability to handle confidential information, administer CPR and First Aid, and implement safety procedures Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with children with special needs Knowledge of federal performance standards and Head Start/Early Head Start regulations Ability to speak multiple languages, including Spanish or other languages spoken by the children and families served Experience with curriculum development and implementation Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Career Growth Opportunities At LSF, we are committed to providing our staff with opportunities for growth and development.
