Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Elementary School Counselor to provide comprehensive counseling services to students, teachers, and parents. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in school counseling or a related field, along with the necessary certification. As an essential member of our educational team, you will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the diverse needs of our students. Key Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling services to students, focusing on academic, social, emotional, and career development. Collaborate with teachers to identify and address student needs, develop sensitivity to individual student needs, and utilize referral procedures. Collect, analyze, and utilize test data and psychological assessment findings to inform counseling decisions and drive student success. Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that include individualized education, career planning, and other activities necessary for student success. Facilitate student career exploration, help students determine personal career goals, and provide resources to learn about post-secondary career preparation requirements and options. Assist students in their quest for information, tests, and preparation for post-secondary education aligned with their career pathway. Provide developmental guidance instruction as part of the comprehensive school counseling program or as directed. Collaborate with teachers to deliver developmental guidance instruction within the classroom and improve the learning climate in each classroom. Serve as a resource person for staff or parents in identifying community resources for therapy, help, and information. Facilitate successful transitions for students between schools, districts, or grade levels. Meet with parents as requested to provide information about educational programming and offerings. Administer group or individual student assessments as requested and interpret assessment results to teachers to improve instruction. Essential Qualifications Master's degree in school counseling or a related field. Certification in school counseling or a related field. Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive school counseling services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an elementary school setting. Familiarity with comprehensive school counseling programs. Knowledge of career development theories and models. Experience with data analysis and utilization. Skills and Competencies Strong technical, conceptual, and human relations skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
