Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Data Application Architect at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in the design and oversight of data applications from back-end to front-end. Your primary responsibilities will include: Designing new or improving existing data applications, providing guidance to Product Leads and Data Engineers in accordance with our architecture framework and guidelines Taking ownership of the end-to-end design and implementation process of Data Products, ensuring alignment from data extraction to presentation in accordance with the organization's guidelines and structures Serving as a primary point of contact with other technology teams to facilitate the extraction, transformation, and loading of data, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of data sources Defining and enforcing performance metrics, balance, and sustainability of data applications, actively monitoring and optimizing the reuse of components Being responsible for creating and maintaining modern standards and guidelines for emerging technologies within our infrastructure, ensuring that all solutions are compliant with these guidelines throughout the project lifecycle Providing direct technical expertise and support to Data Product Teams, including Partners, Product Leads, Data Architects, and Data Scientists, ensuring the team is equipped to meet business objectives Leading the development of Proof of Concepts for new challenges and providing detailed guidance on their implementation, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards Continuously reviewing platform performance metrics to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, proactively addressing any issues and continually seeking opportunities for growth Proactively identifying risk factors in our data applications and taking steps to mitigate potential issues from the outset in the design stage Effectively monitoring technical debt and leading refactoring efforts to enhance system functionality and longevity Providing training and mentorship to Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts, empowering them with the skills required to succeed in their roles and adhere to best practices in data management Participating in knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate the technical skills of the team and foster a collaborative environment Holding accountability for the final deliverables of the data architecture projects, ensuring they meet all functional and technical requirements outlined by stakeholders Collaborating closely with the security team to ensure data applications comply with corporate data security and privacy standards Staying updated with the latest trends in data technology to advocate and recommend improvements to our architecture continuously Essential Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: 5+ years of experience working with Data Products Development 3+ years of experience designing and implementing Data Products (Extractions, Reports, Dashboards) A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field Experience with Business Intelligence Data Visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Microstrategy, etc. Experience with Azure Cloud Data Services and Architecture Strong knowledge of social SQL databases and non-social databases Strong understanding of data modeling and design Knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools Knowledge of architecture and networking across different Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP) Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written) Knowledge of Scrum methodologies Preferred Qualifications and Experience While not essential, the following qualifications and experience are highly desirable: Experience designing, modeling, or developing Data Science and Machine Learning solutions Experience using CI/CD tools - GitHub, GoCD, Terraform, or Azure DevOps Experience in programming languages used in Data Product Development Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) Familiarity with Agile Scrum and DevOps best practices Experience working in a global, distributed team, with in-house and external delivery resources Working knowledge of one Agile lifecycle management tool like Jira or Azure DevOps Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Business Acumen; Planning (Static); Structured Query Language (SQL); Collaborative Teamwork; Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC); Financial Management; Organization; Analyzing; Software Development; Systems Analysis; Project Management; Agile Methodology; Query Language; Data Analysis; Microsoft Office; Communication; Workflow Management; Information Systems; Computer Programming Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
