Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines to support retail data science capabilities Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and other stakeholders to tackle complex challenges and drive business growth Develop and implement data transformation and integration processes to refine raw data into usable assets Work with cross-functional teams to identify data sources, develop data models, and implement data governance practices Write high-quality code in languages such as Scala, Python, or Java, and contribute to code documentation and testing Participate in agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and stakeholders Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and make recommendations for adoption Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on large-scale data pipelines and retail data science Strong programming skills in languages such as Scala, Python, or Java Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases Knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and data quality principles Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS Knowledge of data integration tools such as Automic, Windstream, or Informatica Experience with agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines Strong understanding of data security and compliance principles Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js Skills and Competencies Strong technical skills in data engineering, with a focus on large-scale data pipelines and retail data science Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
