This position will report to the Leader Director – Patient Wellbeing and Pharmacy Tasks Investigation. The Director of Information Science, Patient Safety, will leverage their technical and product management skills to drive our AI development to disrupt the way CVS Pharmacy delivers solutions. The ideal candidate will drive logical solutions and processes designed to support the allocation of controlled substances across 9700+ pharmacy locations. An ideal candidate in this role will be expected to lead, train, and develop a team of data scientists who will be responsible for maintaining current processes as well as encouraging innovative solutions to drive continuous quality improvement within our retail pharmacy units. Prevention of patient safety events through systematically determined solutions fueled by AI/ML will be the foundation of this team's mission. This individual will collaborate with business leaders and partners to assist with defining strategy and advancement, prioritization of insightful endeavors, and definition of explicit workplans and tasks to execute across the retail pharmacy chain. This individual should be able to effectively impact and communicate with non-technical audiences using facts and well-considered cases. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead drives to improve patient safety and advance on professional practice solutions using both explicit and AI/ML procedures * Influence technology depth to engage with key leaders across the organization to identify new uses of AI in patient safety topics * Input business requirements from various partners, lead analysis of large datasets and thus orchestrate methodologies and strategies to tackle complex issues * Direct or facilitate proper testing of insightful solutions including AI and machine learning, to ensure results are consistent with business requirements * Create and present significant and insights-driven materials on insightful outcomes with recommendations and continue to direct various audiences including internal partners and senior leadership * Create and tutor data scientists, contribute to their learning and development plan, data sharing, and provide input on technology stack **Required Capabilities** * 6+ years of experience leading and inspiring elite performance teams. Provides timely and occasional feedback to coordinate reports and holds them accountable for achieving quality outcomes * Ability to think in an intuitive way; including defining objectives, examining key components, managing financial implications, assessing risk, and creating a plan to achieve success * 8+ years' experience in the Product Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and agile development, including providing business requirements focused on data and analysis * Strong leadership abilities, key mindset, and experience driving highly technical teams focused on delivering data and analysis solutions in healthcare * Strong organizational abilities. The actual base compensation offer will depend on various factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant elements.
