We value what you can do, from anywhere in the U.S. **Focus in Data Platform Teams:** ### Information Base Access Stage The Information Base Access Stage group designs and operates an adaptable query interface that works with data reflections to operate at sub-millisecond latencies while enabling Netflix microservices to more easily store, consume, and manage their data. This group holds a significant responsibility in empowering Netflix microservices to fulfill their increasingly growing and evolving data needs. This group is passionate about distributed data systems technology. We're active in the open-source community and believe in working what we own. We're a small team responsible for business-critical systems and are committed to a culture of feedback and design. ### Information Stage Foundation The Information Stage Foundation group serves as a platform for our own data platforms. Our common framework and tooling enable arenaflex to rapidly enhance on providing cutting-edge data and analytics platforms to the rest of the organization without building customized platforms for each new framework. To do this, we create high-impact frameworks, control, and deployment systems that are calibrated for the needs of running our data platforms at scale; many of our tools and frameworks are written in Python, so this is an excellent group to consider if you enjoy working in various languages. ### Big Data Figure Responsible for providing the cloud-native stage for distributed data processing at arenaflex. This group is crucial to batch data processing in Information Stage. It offers support for Flash, to ETL data into the Petabytes-scale data warehouse and access that data using Flash and Voila/TrinoDB. It also provides sub-second latency to a specific class of queries using Druid. We're seeking exceptional talent with experience in Flash, Presto/Trino, Druid, Iceberg, and distributed database frameworks in general. Jobs in this group include tackling very fascinating and challenging issues of working with data at scale, building features and performance enhancements, and working closely with open-source communities to shape the projects and make contributions. ### Big Data Arrangement Offers the stage for planning, organizing, and executing big data jobs and workflows in a self-serve way. These stages include basic services that have all ETL and ML responsibilities running on Big Data Frameworks at arenaflex. These fully distributed frameworks are continually evolving for arenaflex scale with best-in-class technology. We're moving towards event-driven and intelligent orchestration which would require minimal client input/interference. This would be a truly amazing job if you enjoy: - Addressing real business needs at large scale by applying your programming and logical thinking skills. - Architecting and building a strong, versatile, and highly accessible distributed foundation. - Driving cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPMs across teams. - Sharing our experiences with the open-source communities and contributing to arenaflex OSS. **About You:** - You have 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications. - You're proficient in the design and development of Scalable web services. - Experienced in building and operating adaptable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems. - You're knowledgeable about Java or other object-oriented programming languages. - Multithreading is a challenge that you're open to handling. - You have a BS in Computer Science or a related field.
