About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Full Stack Media Engineer to join our team at Disney's Diversion and ESPN Innovation (DE&E Innovation). As a Media Engineer II, you will be responsible for providing high-level technical support and data entry services for our global media operations, working on a night shift schedule from 9PM to 5AM. Key Responsibilities Provide high-level technical support for our global media operations, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to live media creation and distribution. Perform data entry services for our media operations, including entering and updating data in various systems and databases. Collaborate with our team to develop and implement new technical solutions and processes to improve our media operations. Work closely with our stakeholders to understand their technical needs and provide timely and effective support. Participate in the development and implementation of new technologies and systems to improve our media operations. Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge base. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in media technology, with a focus on live media creation and distribution. Strong knowledge of IP-based broadcast gear, including switches, switchers, audio consoles, signal processors, encoders/decoders, video scalers, and playback systems. Experience with studio technology, including video walls, cameras, VR set technology, picture processing systems, contact screens, lighting, and other related systems. Knowledge of record-based work processes, including media resource management frameworks (Cloud-based or On-Premise). Experience with creation control systems, including Envision Interchanges or Grass Valley automation systems, Evertz, Adobe, Viz, Dalet, Riedel trunking, Lawo, Calrec, Evertz, Ross, and other related systems. Knowledge of transmission systems, including RF (Radio Frequency), Satellite Distribution, Fiber Distribution, and other related systems. Experience with cloud-based technologies, including AWS Foundations and other cloud-based advances, including S3/Icy mass storage and cloud register (EC2) services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision. Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies as needed. Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle. Preferred Qualifications We are looking for candidates with the following preferred qualifications: Experience with on-prem and cloud-based storage and compute foundation stages and current mechanical contributions. Knowledge of SMPTE principles for broadcast TV and video creation/real-time conditions. Experience with compression methods like MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS. Knowledge of Evertz programming control systems, including outline control through Vista Link or Magnum, EQX/EXE switches, and their monitoring software VLPRO, SDVN, celebrity, VUE, MVP. Experience with Nielsen (NACAT), VANC hardware, Direct Acoustics, and other related systems. Knowledge of facilitated collector decoders IRDs, core devices, edge devices, timing of video and audio systems, audio, and video media file formats.
